Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook?

Hi I am trying to start Microsoft Office Outlook and I am getting an error message telling me to quit outlook and any other mail applications and then use the inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) but I am not sure what to do I am on vista and have tried using system restore and run on the program but neither has been successful can anybody help?

try the ever safe solution: uninstall it and install it again. If it still doesn’t work, I suggest you go to the Microsoft website and see if they have a solution. (You’d be surprised)

This message is coming: cannot start Microsoft outlook. cannot open the outlook window. the set of folders cannot be opened. errors have been detected in the file c:\Documents and settings\Administrator\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit outlook all mail-enabled applications, and then use the inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file.For more information about the inbox repair tool, see help.

On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics.

Click Continue, and then click Start Diagnostics.

In Outlook on the menu bar > Click Tools > Accounts > Highlight your email address > Upper above Click Repair button. This will take a few minutes or more to finish.

Microsoft Outlook 2003 is not working?

I got an e-mail on outlook that said "failure notice" and i tried to delete it but an error message popped up saying that their was an error and that i needed to repaire outlook. so i followed the directions the error message told me to and used the Inbox repair tool. it scanned outlook and found a few errors and i clicked "repair" and an other message popped up saying something like "there is already an aplication there do you want to continue". I said yes and it said it was repaired.

but now whenever i open outlook it says it is "not responding". How do i fix this? any suggestions?

Needs help with my Outlook, Please!?

I am having some issues with my outlook, this just started like 2 days ago, before that it was working perfectly fine! Here is the error it is giving me:

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file. Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the Inbox rapair tool, see help.

I tried going to help, but outlook closes right away, and I went to my computers support and help, an I cant find anything. Anyone have any advice for me?? Thanks!

My friend says I went over the 2 gig limit and so I am screwed. Surely this cannot be true. Some of you masters out there have to know a way for me to fix this. We already tried the "inbox repair tool" and "system restore" to an earlier point. No dice. It is super important that I get back my contact list and personal folders full of saved e-mails. Please help !

How to restore corrupted Outlook Express data files (*.dbx) ?

The emails in my sent items folders in Outlook Express programs can not be deleted or moved; It only said that the action can not be executed because of an error, but it does not mention what kind an error.
Because of this, my outgoing emails can not be removed from Outbox so when I try to Send&Receive, it will continously sending over&over again.
I already try using Inbox Repair Tool from Microsoft Office Suites, but it only fix the Outlook Data Files (*.PST) not Outlook Express’s.

I known several ways to solve your problem.
1. You can manualy delete Outbox.dbx file in Outlook Express folder. This file will be automaticly recreated when Outlook Express started.
2. You can use Explorer for Outlook Express to delete messages. Download here:

With Scanpst.exe or Inbox Repair Tool there is no guarantee that you will get those messages and attachments back from the PST files. Instead you should find another ways like Outlook PST Repair.
