If this is the first time you~re doing this, you’ll need to go to your Yahoo mail account settings and choose enable pop3/imap email or you won’t be able to use it on your Outlook.
Yahoo mail help is amazing because it provides all information (with screens) that you need to setup it as pop3/imap on the main email client applications (outlook, outlook express, eudora, etc.).
Hope it helps.

I’m not sure what country you are working from. In places like the United States, you need to upgrade your free Yahoo Mail account to a Yahoo Mail Plus or Yahoo Business Mail account before all this will work.

What I suggest is that you go to the webpage listed below to start. If you are in the US, you will need to follow the steps to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus. If not, try skipping that at first. Then follow the rest of the steps on the page and see if everything works ok.

If all your settings match those shown on the page and this still doesn’t work, you will probably need to go back to the beginning and upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus. That should get everything working.

Here’s the page you want:

http://www.living-with-outlook.com/yahoo-mail.html

I hope this helps!

To set up Outlook you use the same password you normally use to access Yahoo on the website.

Your problem may be that you’re using a FREE Yahoo account. Yahoo only allows POP3 access in Outlook for those who upgrade to the PAID service – Yahoo Mail Plus.

How do I migrate from Microsoft Outlook 2003 to Apple Mail? I can’t figure it out.

First you need to set up your Mail account, you’ll be prompted for this when you first launch Mail.

You will need details from your ISP such as ingoing and outgoing mail server – look for them in documentation sent to you when you started the service or from their website or any help service they have.

Once you’ve created the account any messages on the ISP’s server, both old and new will automatically start downloading to your Mail account. You can specify in Mail>Preferences Accounts tab, Advanced tab how long you want messages to remain on the server.

If you have old messages in Outlook that are no longer on the server but you want to bring across to Mail, check the link below for some ways of bringing them across:
