how do I open a microsoft outlook 2000 pst file?

I have basically tried everything I could think of to open my microsoft outlook 2000. When I first tried to open it I could not select my existing pst file a message opened up saying; "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use." I ended up creating a new pst file so I could use my email for the time being. I tried going into my program files to use the Inbox Repair Tool with no luck. I saw some information that suggested my file may be to large so I downloaded microsoft crop tool. After that I was able to use the scanpst.exe and repair. From there it has gone nowhere. I cannot open my old pst file at all it does not recognize outlook. I also tried to download a pst viewer so I could at least view my old emails. Also no luck.

Any suggestions?

You can open it through any MS Outlook 2000 and later. To open you should set up a new account manually and when it asks for a location for personal email/folders direct it to your pst file. If everything is fine when you restart Outlook you should see your emails that were stored in the pst file.

I keep trying to open a web address from my Outlook 2007 but a error window pops up that says: This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. Im the system administrator and I really need to access these websites. So can anybody tell me how to fix this?

So, I have been using MAC for years. But, at school, we have windows and of course we use outlook for e-mails,….. When I am home I go to my university’s website for outlook and use it, but it doesn’t look the same of of course. How can I use outlook at home and still integrate more than 1 email? For example, I want to receive all my yahoo, msn, and hot mail emails on one OUTLOOK email. Is that possible?

Can’t you use the Mail application on OS X for multiple email accounts? If not, then Outlook comes with Office 2011 for Mac.

Outlook is working , you sure, you are getting mails. then surely your browser has some damages, try to check with some other browsers, like it IE, go for chrome or firefox.

I recently bought a new computer and all new MS Office Suite software. On my old computer I used to read my yahoo mail through MS Outlook. I have tried to set up my e-mail the same way on my new computer by using the Outlook E-mail wizard, but have been unsuccessful in doing so. Any tips on how to do this would be much appreciated.

1 Open Microsoft Outlook, click "File" and choose "Add Account" from the "Info" tab.
2 Click "Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types" and then click "Next."
3 Choose "Internet Email" and click "Next."
4 Enter your name in the "Your Name" field as you want it to appear on the emails you send.
5 Type your Yahoo! email address into the "Email Address" field.
6 Select "POP3" from the "Account Type" drop-down menu.

If this is the first time you~re doing this, you’ll need to go to your Yahoo mail account settings and choose enable pop3/imap email or you won’t be able to use it on your Outlook.
Yahoo mail help is amazing because it provides all information (with screens) that you need to setup it as pop3/imap on the main email client applications (outlook, outlook express, eudora, etc.).

You can setup your email account on Outlook as an imap account, i.e., it~s like a virtual email, you can see, read, delete your email but it~s not on your outlook, it’s still on your web server, so you can see it from inside outlook and from a web page.
Setting up your email as Imap brings this benefit, you’ll be able to see your custom folders as if they’re part of you Outlook mailbox.
To confirm this option, go to Yahoo mail help and choose pop3 and/or Imap.

Hi I am trying to start Microsoft Office Outlook and I am getting an error message telling me to quit outlook and any other mail applications and then use the inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) but I am not sure what to do I am on vista and have tried using system restore and run on the program but neither has been successful can anybody help?

try the ever safe solution: uninstall it and install it again. If it still doesn’t work, I suggest you go to the Microsoft website and see if they have a solution. (You’d be surprised)
