you need to use the scan pst tool to scan your emails.

if you're using outlook 2007 the scanpst tool could be found in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12

if you're using outlook 2003, it would be here
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\Office11

once you've launched your scanpst tool
you need to click on browse and proceed to the location of your pst files

The default location would be
outlook 2003 -C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Outlook 2007 -C:\users\<username>\AppData\local\microsoft\outlook

please note*
if you can see any mentioned folder above that means you have not shown hidden file or folders

to do this -start > control panel >folder options >view tab > tick the option that says "show hidden files or folders"

This should sort the issue out.
Let me know how it goes buddy !

cheers !
References :
I have heard of this happening to someone before, it happens when you try to exit Microsoft Office Outlook and then quickly open it again. To fix this just open Outlook again and it should work fine. If that does not fix your problem than please contact me at esafe@hargray.com with more information like your Outlook version and computer specs.
