Problem with microsoft outlook?
December 28th, 2009 | by admin |I can’t open outlook I get an error message where it tells me to run the inbox repair tool, when I run the inbox repair tool it gets so far and then freezes. Please help
1. The repair can take hours if you have a lot of e-mails – have you given it enough time.
2. Go to the backup that you have created somewhere (e.g. on a DVD) and recover the outlook.pst file and put it into C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
3. What – no backup! Well if all else fails, look for a file called outlook.pst in C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and rename it. Then restart outlook and it will create a new mailbox for you (everything will be lost from your old mailbox). You can then go into file / import / import from another program or file / then choose the filename that you renamed your old outlook.pst to and see if you can re-import any part(s) of the old outlook (If you want it anyway).
