Outlook express 6 contacts to Excel?

I want to make some emails with mail merge with word, but outlook express 6 is being a retard. I can’t export the list of contacts. I can convert it to a txt file, then convert it using excel, but it converts the whole list. I just want to choose one folder of that list with 30 contacts. If I try to export it, it wants me to change it to a .WAB file, and I don’t know how that works. Probably should upgrade but please bear with the question.
