The mail button (envelope) on the Yahoo toolbar is for Yahoo! mail so forget about the Yahoo toolbar. Since you have a new laptop, I assume you are using IE7. The IE7 command bar (the bar with the house and gear icons) can be customized to have a read mail button. Right click the Tools button (gear), click customize command bar, click add or remove commands and add the read mail button. Now you have to decide if you are going to use Outlook or Windows Live Mail. Outlook uses POP3. You could install Microsoft Office Outlook Connector (free download at Microsoft.com/downloads) which will allow you to look at Microsoft hotmail in addition to POP3 mail or you could install Windows Live Mail which supports both. That is your decision. The final step is to link the read mail button with the mail program you will be using. Click Tools, click Internet Options, click Programs tab (at the top) and select your e-mail program.
