Is it harmful to have over 13,570 email messages in my inbox harmful or dangerous to the computer?

March 5th, 2010

I have over 13,570 messages in my inbox on my desktop computer at home. Some read and others unread. (Starting from the end of 2006. Now I am trying to log into you tube and I cannot get through. The website just won’t come up? Is having alot of messages in the inbox harmful to the computer or affect it in any way?

Technically, it is not harmful to your computer as the data is kept on Yahoo’s servers. But, when you open your Yahoo account, your computers will have to work harder to do anything, if you do a lot on your account, as the memory will be used processing all that information. Every thing works much better, faster and more efficient when there is less data to process with less memory used.

What is the address of that website where you type in a book or author and it suggests similar books?

why free yahoo mail can’t configure their account in microsoft outlook?

March 5th, 2010

It seems that there is no luck for the free yahoo mail users to configure their free yahoo mail in microsoft outlook.

No. The FREE Yahoo accounts are not equipped to work that way. You need to upgrade to the PAID version Yahoo! Mail Plus. I’ve heard that there are at least two ways to sneak around the system, but I haven’t tried them. One is by downloading something called YPOPS.

Meanwhile the FREE Gmail accounts can be configured in Outlook in either POP or IMAP, and I understand Hotmail is in the process of changing theirs to allow it too.

Setup outlook express without leaving a copy in yahoo mail. How to return them or import archived outlook mail?

March 5th, 2010

I set up the pop settings in Outlook Express 6.0 correctly and clicked on send/receive mail and all messages were transferred to my PC, but I forogt to click leave a copy on the server. I still need them on the internet Yahoo Mail Account. I still have all the sent messages in the Yahoo Mail account. Is there a way or best practise to keep all of these synched?

Many thanks in advance

In the set up of the outlook account, there is a setting to leave a copy on yahoo. If you have already popped the email without saving copies, the only way to get them back in is to forward them one by one to your yahoo account. There is no way to pop them back in.

everytime i try to mail someone on their website outlook 2007 startup comes up?

March 5th, 2010

why is this? why cant i mail a company? it asks for a password that my internet service has provided me, but i dont know what that is. help. thx

You probably have Outlook set up as the default email application to use.

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs tab and change your default email to use. Click Apply, Click OK. Close all browser windows and try again. See if that helps.

As for the ISP password for the Outlook, contact them and ask to reset it for you if you use that product. They should walk you through and there should be a setting to choose to always remember the password (should you prefer).

How Do I Get My Website Added to Google and Keep It Persistent?

March 3rd, 2010

I added my website URL to Google recently. A few days later when I went to search with Google, my website showed up in the results on page 1. 2 weeks later (now) its buried way back in pages 20 or so.

How do I keep it persistent (and on page 1) like some of the other sites I see in results?
Forgot to mention that my website is a blog.

Keep adding new content and try and get some high rank incoming links from other relevant sites.

Could someone who creates a gaming website add a program, so that when installed it spys on your computer?

March 3rd, 2010

I was awakened in the middle of the night by my computer turning on. I laid there for awhile and realized it had been going for quite a while. I got up and turned off the computer and the next day when I checked out the log on files it said a gaming site had been on for 13 minutes before I had turned it off. I know no one was on because I’m very close to it and no tasks were set to run such as defragmenting, etc. A website for gamers to meet and chat and discuss things was downloaded by my teenager. When my child has updates to install from this website he has to get me to click the permission button to advance. So whats going on?????????
My teen had been the last one to use the computer so it may have been on idle. All I know is that the room lit up brightly and the computer acted like it was running.
If it was programmed to be part of the game site would it even show up on an anti virus scan?

could be a virus of some sort, or a trojan. and yes, you can attacth programs to even emails nowadays. Just be carefull what you download and scan it with your anitvirus. I use avast. Its a free virus program and is very helpful. Great customer service too. Good luck!

Make sure you have them in your address book, contact list.

is there a website where you can keep an online address book?

March 3rd, 2010

i really want to be able to have numbers and addresses but i always lose address books..any ideas??

Any online email website such as gmail and yahoo (which are free) allow you to add other information such as Address, Phone, etc. to the address book that comes with them. You can access these anywhere with an internet connection.
