Very interesting. I do not doubt that was your experience. Sorry to hear of it. What year was show? Van is a perfectionist to his art. I can’t imagine him going on stage & discrediting himself. May have been drunk, as Dylan has been known to do . Van always mumbles his lyrics – belting out notes like a sax. He is not known for forgetting his words….unless he was changing them as Dylan often does….Anyhow…Van is a true great. Sorry the show you saw sucked.

@gtrrobster Van Morrison was a major disappointment,want we hear was no great hits concert. This was a demand your money back performance! unrehearsed,uncoordinated,disorganized. No beer policy that we were informed of only after we purchased the tickets. We needed a drink to sit thought an old man mumbling and forgetting his lyrics! I can do without the EGO

Not sure when you saw him……what was so bad about the show? Van hmself, the sound system?
I have a bunch of live VM tapes from 70s-90s, and they all sound excellent. And we just saw him last week (MAy ’10) And it was perfecto…just curious
